Wing Chun Dynamics Ludlow
The Ludlow branch of Wing Chun Dynamics was established in 2012 by Sifu Neil Barker in and has continued to grow since that time. Now in it’s fifth year at Ludlow’s Assembly Rooms, the class continues to welcome new students through it’s doors while also benefiting from having members who have advanced through the syllabus and will themselves soon be opening new classes throughout Shropshire, Herefordshire and into Wales. While new students are welcome, spaces are limited with classes kept small so that the standards can be kept to a high level, ensuring the art and its ethos is preserved.
Students at the Ludlow class are guided through the Wing Chun Dynamics syllabus with a focus on individual learning and application of skill. From his own experience in the system, Neil appreciates that each student is different and as such their learning experience and subsequent path through the martial arts needs to be different too. An area that one student may have an affinity for and natural ability in may represent considerable difficulty for another, and students at the Ludlow class are encouraged to embrace their unique strengths but also work on their weaknesses.
In 2017, a Kung-Focus class was added to the Ludlow timetable to offer select students the opportunity to study the ancient art of Golden Bell Chi-Kung. As the only instructor qualified by Master Taylor to teach this unique system, this represents a rare opportunity for some of the Ludlow students to study both themselves and the energy systems that are an integral part of both kung-fu and personal well-being. This is currently a closed-door session that is by invitation only, though further classes may be added in the near future.
For those students who wish to develop their understanding of Wing Chun Dynamics on a more personal level, private tuition is also available which can either be arranged at Bewdley Kung-Fu Centre or at the students home, but this is strictly by appointment only.
