Rich is a positive character who has always had a keen enthusiasm for sports and exercise.  He has played basketball at county and university level, competed in triathlons, ran 10K runs, completed obstacle course races and has been studying martial arts for over 17 years.

As a quiet child, Rich first got into martial arts to boost his self-confidence.  Initially, he trained in kickboxing, then boxed for a while and studied Aikido. After several years, he eventually found what he was looking for in a martial art.  He strongly believes, kung fu, particularly the Wing Chun Dynamics system, provides the perfect balance of physical demand, tradition and practicality.  He believes only once he started training at Wing Chun Dynamics, under the expert tutelage of Master Dave Taylor, did he develop true self-confidence and belief in his abilities. Incredibly, his confidence and belief grew so much that he chose to test his abilities in open martial arts tournaments (something that he would never have imagined doing as a shy, quiet child).  This is just one example he gives of the positive influence kung fu has had on his life.

Rich’s career journey, which has been in the health fitness industry and teaching, has led him to this exciting point in his life.  As a former personal trainer and school teacher, he is in a great position to utilise his experience in health and fitness, education and martial arts to develop children’s confidence, focus, health, fitness and general well-being.  Wing Chun Kung Fu has given him so much both mentally and physically and he is now excited to pass this on to others through Kung Fu Dynamos.
